The people of Sacred Birch cherish the fact that in our religion, no one needs a church organization or a church minister in order to follow her or his spiritual path. At the same time, though, we do believe that worship of the Goddess and the God draws us into relationship with other people. We in Sacred Birch gather together to worship the Goddess and the God at least eight times a year, not because we need to, but because we feel drawn to. We gather together to study the Craft, not because we need to, but because more perspectives make for more lively learning. We gather together just to be together, to enjoy each other's company and the fact that each of us are wonderful parts of creation.

If you want to be part of a lively group of Wiccans who want to deepen their faith and serve others in the process, then we ask you to consider becoming a member of our Society. There are a variety of types of members in Sacred Birch. Those who participate in the life and mission of the Society without any other formal connection are called “Associate Members.” Anyone may be an Associate Member of Sacred Birch by simply filling out this form.

Those who take part in a Rite of Dedication to the Society (held at Yule and Ostara each year) are called “Dedicated Members.” Dedicated Members are what people might consider the active core members of the Society who are usually seen at public rituals, swapping emails on the Yahoogroups list, and having fun at fellowship events.

Some dedicated Members decide to take part in a formal process of supervised study and then become Initiated Members. These good folks are able to vote in the Society’s annual meeting and as such help forge the direction of the Society from year to year. The Society also turns to its Initiated Members to serve on the Council and in some cases to be trained to become clergy.

All members of the Society are entitled to take part in Society worship, education and fellowship events, call on the services of Society clergy, share ideas at Council and Society meetings, and to feel joyful at making a positive difference in the world. All members of the Society are asked to regularly observe the Sabbats and Esbats, pursue the 13 Goals of a Witch, and support the work of the Society.
