The Sacred Birch Society exists to provide a safe place where Wiccans and those exploring Wicca may gather for public worship and spiritual exploration.
The Society holds eight public rituals throughout the year celebrating the major feasts of the Wiccan Year. Our open circles follow a fairly standard structure for Wiccan rites so that Neo-Pagans from most any tradition will feel comfortable taking part and also so newcomers will get a good introduction to how many Wiccans worship.Specific information about upcoming rituals is always provided via the Society’s Yahoogroup list. A calendar of events for the entire year is also available on on the Yahoogroups site.
Our public rituals are usually held at the GISD Ligon Outdoor Center at the lodge located in the back of the compound. This beautiful facility allows us the option of using the lodge in the colder months or the pavilion area in the warmer months. All rituals are followed by a potluck meal and time to socialize with other members of the community.
The Society also encourages its members and friends to celebrate the lunar cycles either as individuals or in small groups. A number of private covens are affiliated with the Society, a trend we anticipate will continue. These small groups gather on full moons and at other times, each according to its own tradition.
